January 8, 2026This past holiday season, students from Chesterbrook Academy, Carrington Academy, Enchanted Care Learning Center, Bethesda Country Day School, and Ready Set Grow preschools participated in more than 65 Holiday Giving initiatives, supporting their local communities while learning the importance of generosity and kindness. Through these efforts, students discovered how their contributions can make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
Across the country, students collected thousands of items, including food, clothing, toys, winter gear, diapers, and other essential care products. Many classrooms also “adopted” families to help make their holidays brighter.
Some highlights from 2025 Holiday Giving initiatives include:
- 5,575 food items and 3,500 lbs of food donated to local food pantries and community food banks
- Over $650 in monetary donations and gift cards collected to brighten the holidays for children in foster care or hospitals
- More than 2,000 gifts such as toys, books, and art materials donated to organizations such as Toys for Tots, bringing joy to children in need
- 730 essential care items including clothing, winter gear, diapers, pajamas, and more
- 11 families adopted, more than 165 wishes granted

These Holiday Giving initiatives remind us that the spirit of generosity starts early. Through their thoughtful actions, our students are learning how kindness, empathy, and community involvement can brighten lives.
